TOOLS TO ACHIEVE ZERO HUNGER, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 2 (SDG-02)

Abstract 

Sustainable development goals that are set by United Nations in 2015 consisted of 17 goals, the second important goal is to achieve zero hunger. Nearly 690 million people are hungry and millions of children suffer from extreme hunger and malnutrition, living with vulnerability of diseases. The one of the important strategies to embrace climate smart agriculture. The long lasting and frequent periods of flood and extreme temperature disturb the agricultural families. Climate smart agriculture is a term that includes number of practices, all of these allow farmers to adapt and become more resilient against an unpredictable climate. These practices include diversifying crop varieties, conservation agriculture, and low-water sack gardens. Improvement and investment in farmer education. Some of the other tools to achieve zero hunger are reduction of the food waste and promotion of the small and low income business. Currently one-third of all food produced is wasted worldwide. Improvement in nutritional status and make nutrition as a priority especially in first 1000 days of life can act as a great tool in achievement of sdg 02 goal.
