THE SCIENCE OF LEARNING MEETS THE LEARNERS WITH INSIGHTS FROM THE HOLY QUR’AN

On November 9, 2018 Jacob L. S. Bellmund, Peter Gärdenfors, Edvard I. Moser (Nobel Laureate 2014) and Christian F. Doeller published their research, in a journal SCIENCE 362, 654 (2018). In this research theyanalyzed some data about ‘Humans think using their brain’s navigation system.” They have combined individual threads of evidence to form a theory of human thinking. Although the theory is at a very early stage; it brings some possibilities for further research. The authors also conclude that: “These processes are especially useful for making inferences about new objects or situations, even if we have never experienced them.” “Place and grid cells might have evolved to represent not only navigable space, but to also map dimensions of experience spanning cognitive spaces governed by geometric principles.”

The team of the article Science 362, 654 (2018) introduces the concept of “cognitive space” with a data analysis.

In view of this framework my idea for math learning using “Mathmat” (Qadeer 1998) mappings from one domain to another may be exploited. Another idea is my hypothesis along with some aspects of the inner and outer links between the brain and outer learning environment (Qadeer 2017) which can also be a possibility to analyze in the future. The notion of cognitive infinity is a dimension to think further with the framework of cognitive spaces.

The further development of this work may bring useful links to many fields—science, education, psychology, cognition, environmental studies. In this presentation some ideas in relation to the outer and inner connections are highlighted in various fields. The Holy Qur’an shows a number of examples to guide our thinking to make connections of various types. Holy Qur’an provides multitudinous insights to inspire frames of interfaces, multiple forms of deep understanding with revelation and rationality along with a highly insightful way of its presentation sequence. It is interesting and intriguing to explore a range of such connecting paradigms. What are the possibilities to work on our current challenges! How your creativity can be inspired!
