Myocardial Infarction arises due to disruption of balance between supply and demand of blood to the heart muscles, and is a leading cause of death all around the World. This study was conducted on patients data collected in “Cardiac Care Unit and Cardiology Ward” one of the leading hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan. The aim of the study was to evaluate the ongoing Pharmacotherapy for MI in that Hospital on rational grounds for drug-drug interactions, poly pharmacy and untreated conditions if any. The data was collected randomly in which females were 10% and the remaining 90% were males, most of the admitted patients of MI 40% were in the range 50-60 years of ages, while the least of them 10% were in the range of 30-40 years. Though in routine case the therapy was satisfactory, yet in majority of the cases, a number of interventions and drug-drug interactions were reported. In order to avoids the complications, enhance rational therapy, improve patient compliance and provide effective treatment to indoor patients it is recommended that B.P, ECG, ECHO should be monitored at regular intervals and care must be taken to avoid drug-drug interactions. Emphasis should also be given to follow standard procedures as well as proper education and counseling of the patients should be practericed.
