Abstract

The Jeffrey Epstein case highlights how elite power, systemic abuse, and weak justice systems can intersect. This review examines the “Epstein files,” a massive archive of legal records, investigations, and evidence, expanded through civil cases, federal probes, and a 2025 transparency law. Despite the release of millions of documents and media in 2026, gaps like missing reports, redactions, and unverified tips show limits to full transparency. The case also reveals grooming patterns, high profile links, and global concerns. It concludes that while disclosures support victims, true accountability remains limited without strong independent oversight. The persistence of elite networks continues to shield accountability, raising concerns about equal application of justice. Strengthening institutional trust will depend on transparency, legal reform, and consistent enforcement.
